My love for Breckenridge weddings runs deep. So much so, I’ve created this guide for your Breckenridge elopement or micro wedding. Follow along on this styled full day elopement experience with Linden and Dillon — we went all out for their elopement in Breckenridge, Colorado. From staying at Bootsy’s Basecamp, to sailing off into the sunset for vows and rings, to enjoying a luxury picnic for two by Mountain Lux Events, they covered every romantic detail. Choosing the elopement path allowed them to splurge on what mattered to them — a luxurious experience, just the two of them, surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
HOW DO YOU ELOPE IN BRECKENRIDGE?
All you need is your marriage license and photographer — pretty straightforward! Also, having an officiant isn’t required in Colorado; how cool is that?! I've got all the deets on how to elope in this blog. Plus, I'm a big fan of going local for vendors. It's a win-win: you save big on travel fees, and you can support some pretty sweet small businesses in the area. Here are a few of my favorites:

WHEN SHOULD I PLAN TO HAVE MY BRECKENRIDGE ELOPEMENT?
Thinking about the best season to say "I do" in Breck? Honestly, all of them have their charm (except Spring, keep reading…) — it just boils down to what you're picturing, the activities you’d like to include, and the backdrop you're craving. Here's a breakdown:
SPRING (Apr-May): Since the town of Breckenridge is all the way at 9,600 ft of elevation, we consider Spring (April-May) “Mud Season”. This is when the snow is melting away and the hills are quite literally, muddy. I recommend waiting to elope in Breck for wildflower season which kicks off in late June-July.
PRE-SUMMER (June): Due to our elevation (almost 10,000ft above sea level), I consider June “pre-summer” in the Rockies. It’s just starting to get warm and summer is on the horizon. If you’re looking for an alpine lake celebration, Lake Dillon is the perfect spot for you. From private coves to sandy beaches, this area is the first to thaw out. I have a few favorite secret spots that I’d LOVE to share with you once we’re booked.
SUMMER (July-Aug): Blooms start blooming, crisp mountain air. Imagine hiking hand-in-hand or being surrounded by wildflowers in a meadow with mountains in the distance. Sunshine galore, clear skies. Ideal for an outdoor bash — maybe lakeside or surrounded by the mountains. Trails and sunshine vibes? Yes, please!
FALL (Sept-Oct): Fall is my favorite time to elope in Breck (who am I kidding, they’re all my FAV). Nature puts on a color show, cozy sweater weather. Imagine your vows with a backdrop of vibrant leaves or cozying up by a firepit with your nearest and dearest. Dependent on weather, the leaves start to change mid Sept and are golden into early Oct. Come late Oct and Nov, the seasons begin to collide with snow-capped peaks!
WINTER (Nov-Mar): Snow blankets everything, a true touch of winter wonderland magic for the months of Nov-Mar (yes, winter lasts forever up here which is great for ski season!). For winter elopements, I highly recommend renting out your dream mountain cabin for a dedicated getting ready and first look space. Bonus if your rental has amenities like a hot tub or ski in/ski out feature. Think cozy indoor moments in an A-Frame and embracing the snowy wonderland for an outdoor affair — choices, choices!

Best Breckenridge CEREMONY LOCATIONS?
Here's the scoop on my absolute go-to spots: Boreas Pass takes the cake—it's my top fave for accessibility, proximity to town (only 15-30 min) and wide meadows with mountain views! Loveland Pass is another gem for the best alpine lake in Colorado for an elopement (check out the details in this blog), along with Lake Dillon and, of course, Breckenridge Mountain for all you ski enthusiasts. All of these locations are well-known.
