Best Alpine Lake in Colorado For Your Spring Celebration

If you’re into skipping rocks barefoot in the sand, the sound of waves crashing on the shoreline, with 360 views of the Rocky Mountains in the distance — look no further. I have the perfect location for you near Breckenridge, CO! If you’re planning a spring time celebration (May-June), Lake Dillon is my go-to. From private coves to sandy beaches, this area is the first to thaw out and boasts insanely beautiful views.

BEST TIME TO EXPERIENCE LAKE DILLON: End of May through June for sandy beaches

Due to our elevation (almost 10,000 ft above sea level), I consider this time “pre-summer” in the Rockies. It’s just starting to warm up and summer is on the horizon. Spring is superior since the lake is not filled with snowmelt to capacity, which exposes sandy beaches and private coves along the shoreline.
