LOVELAND PASS: Loveland Pass is like the high-five of mountain passes, sitting about 60 miles west of Denver, Colorado. Loveland Pass stands tall at 11,990 feet and is located directly on the continental divide, dividing the waters that flow into the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. This historic pass, situated behind Loveland Ski Area with views of Arapahoe Basin in Summit County, was the original route over the Great Divide. So, it's not just a pass; it's a piece of history with some serious elevation!

In spring, you get a burst of wildflowers in the background, adding color to your shots. Summer brings clear skies and warm breezes, perfect for capturing those easygoing, sunlit moments. Fall sets the scene with golden brush and a crisp mountain air. And in winter, the pass transforms into a snowy wonderland, providing a cozy, seasonal charm if you love snowglobe vibes. With its diverse backdrop, Loveland Pass is like a versatile friend who's always ready to make you and your partner look good in any season. Check out Charlie and Adam’s engagement photos on Loveland Pass for all the inspo you need to choose this location for your Save the Dates. Did I mention you don’t need a permit to shoot here AND it’s dog-friendly? Please bring your pups!

Creating timeless memories in Colorado engagement locations, where nature's beauty enhances every romantic shot.

BOREAS PASS: Fun fact for you history buffs! Back in the day, from 1872 to 1938, Boreas Pass proudly held the title of the nation's highest narrow-gauge railroad. When WWII rolled around, the train tracks got the nod for valuable resources, leading to their removal. Fast forward to 1952, and voila, Boreas Pass transformed into a road that welcomes cars with open arms. So, what was once a railroad adventure is now a very scenic drive. The pass offers a down-to-earth vibe that will complement your connection. Spring brings vibrant wildflowers and mild weather. Summer is all about clear skies and warm days, making for relaxed and easygoing photos. The fall offers stunning foliage, and winter is snowy as well, of course. Compared to Loveland Pass, Boreas presents a slightly more intimate setting, perfect for couples looking for a quieter area. Check out Britt and Jakob's elopement on Boreas Pass to get a good feel for the golden, fall foliage mid September-October in Breckenridge, and Mitch and Kelly’s engagement session for more sunrise Rocky Mountain magic.

Evergreen

SQUAW PASS: Before evolving into a hub for outdoor adventures, Evergreen originally served as a hunting ground for the Ute Indians. Fast forward to 1860, settlers turned it into farms and ranches, building an economy centered around the lumber trade. The town got its name from the beautiful natural surroundings and landscapes. In 1928, the construction of a dam led to the creation of Evergreen Reservoir, making the town even more popular. It became a sought-after retreat, drawing in Old Hollywood celebrities like Greta Garbo and Teddy Roosevelt. Evergreen has undergone quite the journey, transitioning from Ute hunting grounds to a celebrity hotspot!

Annie and Grant's session above perfectly captures the attraction of Evergreen. Tucked away in a secluded meadow surrounded by—you guessed it!—evergreen trees, it's a straightforward but perfect spot. Setting up a picnic engagement session here lets you and your partner chill in the mountain air, soak in the quiet, and just enjoy each other's company. Or you can take a short hop, skip, and jump to Evergreen Lake for some gorrrgeous lake engagement photos!

BOULDER

CHAUTAUQUA PARK: The Flatirons are like Boulder's rockstar landmarks, standing tall and proud. These dramatic, pointed slabs are the unmistakable face of the Front Range when you're soaking in those Rocky Mountain views. Nestled on the eastern slope of Green Mountain, there are five main Flatirons, each jutting out of the ground at a 55-degree angle, pointing skyward to the west. It's like nature's version of a dramatic skyline, and you can spot these iconic formations from just about anywhere in the area!

If you're into minimalistic aesthetics, neutral outfits, and that laid-back wheat field vibe, Boulder Flatirons is your spot for engagement photos. It's perfect for capturing those timeless images without fully diving into the typical "Colorado" scene. The iconic rock formations provide a unique and simple backdrop that lets you and your partner be front and center. Whether after a classic look or a more softened feel, the Flatirons (specifically Chautauqua Park), offers a versatile setting for engagement photos that align with your style preferences. You will need a permit through OSMP.

PAINT MINES

PAINT MINES INTERPRETIVE PARK: Oh, do I love the Paint Mines for engagement photos! This place is a hidden gem. When I say hidden, I’m not kidding either. It’s literally hours of driving into the middle of nowhere, but don’t let that deter you because it’s SO worth it. The backdrop is fun, thanks to the vibrant rocks naturally painted in purples and oranges, along with the clay formations. It's not your typical scenery, which makes it so cool. The variety of colors and textures at the Colorado Paint Mines provide a dynamic canvas. If you're looking for a spot that's a bit off the beaten path and full of character, the Paint Mines won't disappoint. Keep in mind that the photography fee is a little heavier of a price tag at $100.
