Boho Breckenridge Engagement & Elopement // Charlie & Adam

Charlie & Adam’s boho mountain engagement and elopement (yes, they booked both!) was literally out of my dreams. I really don’t know how I get so lucky to work with such amazing clients, but here we are! Not only did they choose to run around at one of my all-time favorite places, Breckenridge, but it felt like we had known each other for forever. You know those people who you just instantly connect with? Yeah, that was Charlie & Adam for me. And I can’t wait to share their story, their day, and their photos with you!

Charlie & Adam’s Breckenridge engagement photos

C & A originally booked me for their Breckenridge engagement session awhile back. They found me on Instagram (let’s be friends!) and booked me without hesitation. We had never connected before, but they loved my work and trusted me enough to book immediately! Not going to lie, that made my heart do a little flutter. Anyways, once the date of their engagement session came around, I knew it was going to be a special one. First of all, their style is impeccable. Charlie wore the cutest outfit with the most stylish white boots, which fit the boho mountain vibe perfectly! They also brought an Aztec blanket to use as a prop for their photos that was the most perfect addition. Adam even wore it in a few of the photos to spice up his look!

If you’re thinking about booking an Breckenridge engagement session, I always encourage it! This is your chance to document a once-in-a-lifetime milestone for you and your partner. Plus, we’ll get to know each other, get you nice and comfy in front of the camera, and most importantly, have fun!

Charlie & Adam’s mountain elopement photos

Now that you’ve seen their stunning engagement photos, it’s time to chat about their mountain elopement! After having such a fun session together, Charlie and Adam decided to book me for their elopement as well. How sweet is that? Just one more reason to take the engagement photos - you get a sneak peek of what your photographer is really like in person.

When you look through these photos, you’ll see that their elopement day was anything but traditional. That’s how we do it around here! Adam said that he had always imagined saying “I do” to his beautiful fiancée at a secluded spot in the mountains. I always support couples who are confident in their decision to get married their way with no regrets!

Before their elopement, I explored the mountains of Breckenridge to find the perfect locations for each aspect of their day. It was super important to them that they could include their dog, Tally, which is why I suggested Breckenridge, Colorado for their mountain elopement. If you want to elope somewhere like Rocky Mountain National Park, but still want to include your pet, Breckenridge is the perfect location! It’s dog-friendly, the views are unmatched, and you would never guess it wasn’t in RMNP.

Sunset mountain elopement timeline

4:30 p.m. - This is when we met up together at their elopement spot! We had plenty of time to decide on final locations, get ready, and iron out any details before sunset.

4:40 p.m. - We adventured around the mountains to pick out spots for getting ready, ceremony, and sunset photos. Once those were decided on, it was go time!

5:15 p.m. - I made sure to get shots of all their elopement-day details so the rest of the day we could just focus on getting photos of the couple.

5:30 p.m - One thing I LOVED about Charlie and Adam was that they decided to get ready together. They wanted to spend as much time together as they could, and it just made so much sense for them! Instead of the traditional getting ready process at a hotel, venue or airbnb, Charlie simply slipped into her dress, surrounded by nature and pine trees. Adam helped her tie her dress, then she put on his bolo tie. It was so perfect! Also, how fitting was Charlie’s boho, western elopement dress from Reclamation?

5:45 p.m. - We had every intention of having Tally floral’d up for their elopement… but the second they put them on her, she had other plans. As you’ll see in the photos, she ended up chewing them almost immediately! They get points for trying though, right?

5:50 p.m. - Now that everyone was dressed, it was time to walk from their ‘getting ready’ location to their ceremony spot.

6:00 p.m. - For vows, they chose self-solemnization which, in my opinion, is the coolest thing about eloping in Colorado—you're not required to have an officiant. Their vows were short, sweet, and oh so meaningful to their relationship. And, of course, Tally sat right next to them as the read their sweet words to each other.

7:00 p.m. - The sun began to set and they frolicked into the sunset, and I was there to capture the whole thing. Alpenglow on the mountains was incredible, a true colorful Colorado sunset. One of the reasons I love eloping in Colorado so much!

8:30 p.m. - We got the last of their photos, and said our final goodbyes. I left feeling so energized and creatively refreshed, eager to capture more elopements like this!
