Boho Chic Mountain Elopement in Colorado

We’re switching it up a bit today folks, and I’m showcasing a boho-chic (okay, that’s not the abnormal part) styled mountain elopement in Colorado! This is an elopement that I styled + put together myself, to showcase just how over-the-top your mountain elopement can be. I’m so excited to share with you the process behind this styled shoot, as well as showcase everything that your big day can be, regardless of guest count.

Boho Chic Mountain elopement in colorado

You know when you have a creative vision, and you just can’t rest until it’s executed? That’s how I felt with Sabrina and Blake’s styled mountain elopement in Colorado. Being that Colorado is my home state, I know all of the best locations for engagement photos, elopements, you name it. So, I already knew where I wanted this shoot to take place, and all I needed was to gather everything I needed to bring my vision to life. You guys already know how much I love my boho brides out there, and I wanted this styled elopement to reflect that theme to a T.

When browsing through these photos, I want you to remember one thing: your elopement can be as over-the-top or as simple as you’d like. There’s a stigma that elopements have to be simple - including nothing more than the bare minimum. As an elopement photographer, I’m here to say: “To hell with that idea!” Of course, if simple is more your vibe, absolutely run with it. But if you’re anything like me, you like to combine the great outdoors with styling that complements your scenery and feels like a celebration. This styled shoot is meant to be an inspiration piece in which you can pull what you love (and omit what you don't) into your own elopement.

I actually have an entire blog post entitled “10 Boho Colorado Mountain Elopement Ideas” that wll give you even more inspo for your mountain elopement! But for now, we’re going to be focusing on everything that when into Sabrina & Blake’s styled shoot. From the dried florals that match the bride's wide brim hat, to the pampas grass that frames their ceremony location, to the intimate picnic — all of these details were intentionally curated for my boho-loving bride. As a plus, all of these items I have on-hand available to rent for your day. Think of it as a client closet, if you will, for rentals to add that boho-chic touch to your elopement.

Did you know that I offer Intimate Elopement Picnics as an add-on service? Check out my blog post explaining who this service is meant for, and exactly what you get!

Do you have to choose between eloping and having a big wedding?

Short answer: NO! Take it from Sabrina and Blake, the models for this styled mountain elopement. They got married back in July, and they went the traditional, big wedding route. They expressed during this shoot that while their day was special, it felt like it went by in a flash, and that they barely saw each other. The elopement experience is quite the opposite. It's intentional, focuses on quality time together, and while the day will always go by in a flash, at least you can say you truly enjoyed it together.

And if having a big wedding is not a choice for you (meaning: it feels like the right thing to do for your family and friends), I'm here to encourage you that you can, indeed, have both. Who's to say you can't get married the traditional route, then book yourselves an intimate elopement in the woods? There's no rules here at Jessica Luann Photo, and I support you in doing what YOU want.

For an example of a couple who said heck it to tradition and did whatever they want on their elopement day, check out Amanda and Isaiah’s blog post! You might find some inspo ;)

Why should you consider eloping in colorado?

Colorado is the place I call home. I grew up hiking the trails, watching sunsets on the cliffsides. I know certain tows like the back of my hand and spend my free time decompressing in these mountains. It's also where I'm based! I know all the best elopement spots, ones that many out-of-state photographers don’t know about. If you want to go on an adventurous hike before you elope, I know the perfect locations for that! On the other hand, if you want a simple nature walk to your elopement spot, I’ve got you covered, too. Plus, there are tons of fun restaurants, bars, and shopping and other fun things to do! It’s truly the best place to stay for the weekend, get married, and celebrate with your newlywed.

Why not have your engagement session in the mountains, too?

Engagement sessions are the best way for us to get to know each other before your elopement day comes around. You can get comfy in front of the camera, get some great photos, and we can even grab a bite to eat together after!
